Jane

My name is Jane Thatcher. I like to write music so I don’t have to tell people about myself in boring bios. I also believe that social media has a tendency to breed self-absorption. For those interested:

~ I love to write music, perform music, and make records. Check out my newest release, (a)liveEP, with my chamber pop group, Jane & the Pretty Pleases

~ I live in Denver where I teach guitar, play music, listen to records, read, and write

~ I have a Masters degree in social work and worked as a counselor when I lived in Chicago. I am in debt to my clients for teaching me about courage.

~ I composed all of the original music for a full-length musical theater piece about World War II called The Dance.

~ I am currently working on new music and performance pieces about social change, the recession, loneliness, selfishness, community, and hope
